|FOX HUNT NITE OF FIRE|
Jesse adams guns his way to the winner’s circle at the fox hunt
Great weather accompanied a packed house for Sacramento Raceway’s annual Fox Hunt event. This race, famous for its free admission for the ladies, rocked out with a night that featured “The Beast” jet dragster against Andre Pegues’ funny car, the Nostalgia Pro Comp racing series, West Coast Pro Gas, Pro Gas Dragster, and NorCal drag bikes. In the true spirit of the Fox Hunt, the Hooter Girls from Rancho Cordova took on the West Coast Diva Dolls for some rollicking rounds of golf cart drags. Things truly got hot at the conclusion of the event when Jeff Atamian torched a Cadillac sedan with his signature jet car burndown stunt.
Jesse Adams parlayed his superior RTs and ETs into a solid victory over tough competition at the Fox Hunt. In E2, his .017 light may have been the reason ’12 FH winner, Bob Murphy, broke out.
Greg Means had the best car in Pro Gas Dragster all weekend, but still had to hold off a stubborn Kevin Sarginson in the final round, winning at 7.68 to 7.72.
Tim Chappell’s Malibu won C/G over Lee Robert Jr.’s Monte Carlo. The ’12 D/G winner went 9.63 to Lee’s 9.65 in the final round.
Karl Whisenhunt took A/G with a 7.71; Jim Godec broke out with a 7.59.
Both Dan Butterfield (pictured) and Monti Fitzgerald broke out in the B/G final, but Dan’s 8.55 paled in comparison to Monti’s less than elegant 8.45.
Gus Stanko got a free pass to the winner’s circle in the D/G final when Rick Fitzsimmons broke out with a 10.55.
Don “The Kid” Morris took the E/G trophy over Stan Siefert Jr.
